Family Information
Determining if hospice care is right for you or a loved one is an important, life altering, decision. Generally, hospice care is offered to terminally ill patients with a life expectancy of six months or less. This time frame is used as an approximation and it is generally accepted that the sooner someone can access hospice care, the sooner they will be able to receive its benefits.
Generally, a patient is ready for hospice care when he or she decides to pursue treatments meant only to promote/provide comfort rather than to seek a cure for an illness, disease or condition.
